Lion, King of the Colors

Painted and named by Ruby.

There is a ghost in my house

I don't know what it wants. It just keeps saying "Ooooooooh" and
humming that Edvard Greig tune.

Lately, we have been asking Ruby what she is
thankful for. Her answer everyday
for the past week has been "my Grandmas".

Also, Dr. Carsten (aka Wade) has been doing
lots of operations on The boney Man ( aka
a skeleton left over from Halloween).

Astoria

We went to Astoria a couple of weekends ago to visit these
lovely people. They are renovating a home that they bought there which
is super excellent and we can't wait to rent it in the summertime!
It was really beautiful there.
We also encountered some really loud sea lions.

Sorry it has been a post-less weekend. Darn you Facebook!
It sure is a time sucker!

Also, dear family members, I am so
proud of you all for figuring out how to comment!!!
HOORAY!

oh Ruby

Ruby made these this morning.
This is a Totoro.
Here is what it looks like when you turn the paper over.
When I asked her why she drew the back of him
she said " because then it is almost like he is really here".

This is "A starfish ballet class".

It seems like starfish really like ballet.

A wet Martinmas celebration

Ruby's school celebrated Martinmas this week.
There was a lantern walk on monday night

Of course it was raining, but that doesn't
stop anyone around here.
I think I must be fully adjusted to this rain stuff now.
The kids had so much fun and were soaked
when it was all done.
Wade wore his party skirt for the occasion.

kookapoofs

Ruby decided she needed kookapoofs today.
Usually the order is for two but today she needed five.

Here they are all five of them.
Kookapoof is the name she invented for them.
She especially loves it when I have them. Although, two
is definitely my limit.

They make her really happy.

Here she is doing a super pose in the same
sweater I made for Wade.
Lucky for me last years model still fits!

Finito!

I love this sweater.
Here is last years version.
Now officially too small- look how small he was...

Here is this winters version from this pattern.
I used Mission Falls yarn for both.

Bouncy Wonderland

I took these last weekend at a friends birthday party.
I have never been to one of these bouncy house gymnasium places.
It was nuts. There were bouncy houses everywhere.
Ruby keep running around in circles trying to figure out
where to go next. Craziness!

Wow what a week this has been!!
I feel an internal sigh of relief.
Go Barack!
Can't wait to see what you do.

Wade on the edge

After soccer practice and coffee cake, Wade gets a little edgey:

"Don't touch me dada. I do it myself."

Fall is here

Indian Summer is officially over. Rain is forecast for the next six
days.

The kids aren't taking it too hard though, they just had a thorough
soaking in these rain and mud puddles on the way home from lunch.

Weekends are nice
